When viewed side by side, you can see some similarity between Shoggoth on the Roof actor whom we refer to as "Ted" and convicted Unabomber, Theodore Kaczynski. And yes, Kaczynski's whereabouts during 1979 are uncertain (he was believed to be living as a hermit in his Montana cabin). Certainly they are coincidences.

Careful review of their facial features, hair lines, jaw lines, etc.. show this to be two different men. Further, Kaczynski is not known to have had any theatrical aspirations and is not believed to have ever been in play. It strains credulity to think he would have for some reason left his Montana shack to join up with the Other Gods Theatre in Burbank to participate in a stage musical based on the works of Lovecraft.
